Who operates Trusted Circles
Adolfo Gutierrez operates Trusted Circles, an upcoming iPhone app for Christians aged 18 and older to pray with one other person over audio. The app is prelaunch and is not yet publicly available on the App Store.
This policy distinguishes visits to this public website from information handled by the app. For privacy questions, email adolfo.gutierrez@icloud.com.
Visits to this website
This website provides information about Trusted Circles. It has no account forms or checkout. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, advertising trackers, analytics, or session replay. Fonts and images are served with the site rather than loaded from external services.
When you visit this website, its hosting provider processes technical request data needed to deliver pages and protect the service. This can include an IP address, requested URL, request time, and browser or device information in technical hosting logs. This is separate from app account information.
An email link opens your email app. If you contact support, your email provider sends the information you choose to include, and support uses it to respond to your request. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes.
Private app information
The app requires an account. Account and matching information can include your birthday, gender, country, faith journey, prayer preferences, contact details, authentication identifiers, and unfinished onboarding drafts.
This information supports account access, adult eligibility, onboarding, and prayer matching. Unfinished onboarding drafts can be stored by the service so you can continue setup. They are different from the optional prayer draft described below.
These private details are not a public profile. The service also keeps records needed to operate rooms, apply daily call allowances, manage Circle connections and blocks, and support account controls.
Prayer drafts and approved public previews
The optional prayer draft stays in app memory until you approve a public preview. Preparing that preview does not send the draft to a remote AI service.
An unchanged preview copies the request text you entered. You can edit the preview before approving it. Once approved, its title and prayer request become public to people who browse that room, including before they ask to join. Only approve text you are comfortable sharing.
Other people can see your generated stable alias, prayer language, approved public title and request, and relevant Circle status. The app may also supply internal service identifiers needed to connect a call or identify the correct room or Circle connection. Private account and matching fields are not included in that public preview.
A stable alias is not a guarantee of anonymity. Avoid identifying details about yourself or other people in public text.
Audio, connections, and notifications
Calls use WebRTC audio through a TURN relay. Connection and transport metadata are processed to establish and protect the call. The service keeps room, session, and usage metadata needed for call state, allowances, closing screens, and reporting.
Trusted Circles does not record calls or create live transcripts. Your voice can identify you, and another participant may record through external means. Trusted Circles cannot prevent that.
Circle connections require both people to choose to save the connection. The service stores those choices and blocks to support reconnection and personal controls.
If you enable push notifications, the service stores a device token and sends relevant notifications through Apple's push service. You can change notification permission in your iPhone settings.
Current app service providers
The current app uses these providers for the relevant parts of the service.
- Apple or Google, and Clerk
- Process provider authentication and account sign-in information.
- Convex
- Stores and processes the account, prayer, connection, and service records needed to operate the app.
- Cloudflare TURN
- Relays WebRTC audio and processes connection and transport information needed for calls.
- Apple Push Notification service, APNs
- Delivers optional push notifications using the device token and notification payload.
Providers receive the information needed for their role and handle information under their applicable service and privacy terms.
Planned purchases and crash reporting
Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat are planned for the monthly Pro subscription. Purchase and entitlement handling are not yet implemented. If introduced, they will involve purchase records, subscription status, and service identifiers needed to apply the right account benefits.
Sentry is planned for crash and technical error reporting, but is not yet implemented. PostHog analytics is deferred and is not active. These plans do not mean that this website loads any of those services.
This policy will be reviewed before those data flows are introduced.
Safety reports and restricted review
Reports can include the reported account, room or session references, a reason, your optional explanation, and restricted evidence of public content. Submitting a report also blocks the person.
Only authorized reviewers can access reports, private report notes, and restricted public-content evidence. Ordinary receipts and notifications do not contain those notes or evidence. A report does not automatically attach your private prayer draft or recorded audio.
Publication checks and report review are limited. Trusted Circles does not continuously monitor audio or promise a response deadline.
Retention and account deletion
Active account and service data are retained as needed to operate the service. There is no general fixed expiry for ordinary room and session history.
Account deletion deactivates app access and requests deletion of the sign-in account. The current policy sets these separate retention periods.
- Primary account data follows a deletion boundary of 30 days after the deletion request.
- Protected reports, report notes, and related restricted public-content evidence are retained for up to 365 days after report submission, including when an involved account is deleted sooner.
- Operator audit records expire 90 days after the audit event.
- Limited ended-session metadata, including the stored alias, can remain available to the other participant for up to 30 days after the deletion request for the closing screen and reporting. This does not include private prayer text or provider identity.
A minimal deletion-prevention record remains after primary deletion. It includes hashed authentication identity information and limited deletion metadata so an old sign-in session cannot recreate the deleted profile. This record has no fixed expiry.
Copies of deleted information may remain in provider backups until their normal expiry. We do not guarantee a fixed deadline for erasure from provider backups.
For the planned subscription, deleting your app account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancellation is a separate action.
Security and its limits
The app uses authentication, account access controls, and restricted reviewer permissions to limit access to private information and safety evidence. These measures reduce access risks, but no online service can guarantee complete security or prevent another participant from saving information you share.
Use the public preview and call controls to decide what you share and when you leave.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can edit a prayer preview before publication, leave a call, remove a Circle connection, report or block someone, and change optional notification permissions. Account deletion is available through the app's account settings.
For access, correction, deletion, or help exercising rights available under applicable law, email adolfo.gutierrez@icloud.com. Include a brief description of your request. Support may need to verify that the account belongs to you before providing account information or making changes. Never send a password or sign-in code.
The app is intended for adults 18 and older. If you believe a person under 18 has provided account information, contact support.
